This shield is in fond memory of the late Dougie Linton, who was arguably the finest athlete to grace the Werrington Joggers vest, representing England as a veteran on track and cross country, and his records still exist at Male Vet 55 (5m, 10m and ½ marathon) and all distances from 5K to ½ Marathon in the Male V60 category.

The shield is awarded to the first male finisher from the club at the Great Eastern Run (or equivalent local Half Marathon) to be presented at the annual Presentation Evening.
