When I was asked to become the Clubs President in 2003 I asked if I might introduce a Shield at the Clubs annual awards evening and I am delighted that this award has continued since then to the present day

This award is intended to highlight the achievement of a club member who is, or has been, an encouragement to us all. Sometimes in ways which might inspire us but in different ways to all the other awards we have

I believe everyone has a story to tell about their running or involvement with the club and some are quite remarkable. As the club grows finding just one person each year to recognise has become quite difficult but I hope you will agree with me that all the names below and replicated on the shield were worthy recipients and I look forward to the award continuing for many years to come.
